Law Project on making amendments to the Code of Administrative Offence (concerning improvement measures in antipoaching combating) № 3003 from 22.07.2008, initiated and developed by AFPA "The Fishermen Community of Ukraine" in cooperation with Kiev Environmental and Cultural Centre  today it has been approved in first reading   (taken as a grounding) thanks to the support of  the people’s deputies Golub  А.V., Zayats  I.А., Bevza V.А., Shentseva D.А. and others.

Due to the persistent actions of AFPA «The Fishermen Community of Ukraine» according to the «Program of the poaching  fishing tools trading ban  in Ukraine», in January 2008 , we have reached amendments acceptance for the basic «Trade regulations at the markets», approved  by the Ministry  of Economy in Ukraine, which  are taken as a grounding in the regions. With the support of the State Environmental Inspectorate and State Fishery Protection Agency the information was passed to the regions at an official level and sent to the environmental protection and law-enforcement authorities and also to all of the local city and village councils.

 

On February 27 in Rovno “The seminar in training of the fishing sport referees in ІІ-ІІІ categories” took place. The event was conducted by the Panel of judges of “the Fishermen Community of Ukraine”, under the championship and due to the indirect participation of Kiev Fishing Sport Federation President – Yakov Andriyevich Dvirnyy. After the seminars in Kiev and Crimea, the seminar in Rovno has become the third similar event. This seminar conducting – another step on the way to revival of the civilized refereeing in the fishing sport of Ukraine, which   has been started by “The Fishermen Community of Ukraine” since 2008.

 

At the end of the  last year, analyzing  the scope  and the quality  of the work done  during  the year of 2008  Fishermen Community of Ukraine  activists came to the  conclusion  that in  many questions of the present interest solution,  the Association  lacks  a scientific assessment  and comments by the experts: ecologists, ichthyologists, biologists, zoologist, etc. Graduated and complex solution of the declared objectives – one of the important principles of AFPA “Fishermen Community of Ukraine” activity. This is precisely why  the idea  has been proposed to found  Science  Advisory Board  at “The Fishermen  Community of Ukraine”, which   has to consist of  the best  specialists, scientific workers, countries, which with their training in theoretical knowledge and practical  experience will help to solve serious environment-oriented tasks of the national nature .

 

“Fishermen Community of Ukraine” continues to implement «Program on the illegal fishing gears trade prohibition in Ukraine” started at the beginning of the year 2008. Having realized  the fact that the problem  of the universal illegal fishing  gears sale in practical  terms  is quite difficult, the Community activists are attacking this  problem overall,  step by step and  from  different  perspectives.

 

In the course of the Program implementation on the rights replacement to the public environmental inspectors, we received the results of the new expert review of our «Legislation on making changes in the Code of Ukraine on the administrative violations (concerning the antipoaching arrangements reinforcement)».

This time the expert review was conducted by the Ministry of Justice in Ukraine.  We have represented the results of this expert review that are positive on the whole for the attention of the public! According to the assessment and resolution of the authority, the Ministry of Justice raises no objection against extending rights for the public environmental inspectors.
