On December 10 in Orkhussk center (the city of Kiev), the press-conference dedicated to the “Program on the antipoaching in Ukraine” matters implementation took place, which has been implemented for two years already successfully by the AFPA “Fishermen Community of Ukraine”. New shocking facts on the poaching rate in Ukraine were made public at the event, besides, the unique video on the antipoaching struggle were shown, the new ways to solve this actual problem were offered to the attention of the present company.
After the press-conference “the Exhibition of the poaching tools” was opened, where the real poaching tools (more than 50 various kinds) were demonstrated to the journalists – fish catching, animals catching, birds catching: «electric fishing rods», «fish gigs», «planes», «loops», «traps», «tyke nets», «TV-sets», «spiders»,etc.
Journalists took part in the discussion with Andrey Nelipa (President of the AFPA”Fishermen Community of Ukraine”), Nikolay Cherevko (the First deputy manager of the State Ecological Inspection in Ukraine), Vladimir Boreyko (Director of the Kiev Ecological and Cultural Centre) at the press-conference. «Fishermen Community of Ukraine» since the beginning of this year has been implementing “The Program on the sales of the poaching tackles prohibition in the markets of Ukraine” in cooperation with the Kiev ecological and cultural center. Let us remind you that this benefit was initiated in 2007 by the Kiev ecological and cultural center, and at the beginning of this year «Fishermen Community of Ukraine» has taken up the ecologists’ initiative. As a result as of November 2008, at least in 125 cities of Ukraine, in particular in 17 area centers and in the capital, the local municipal governments adopted the additions to the local «Trade regulations in the markets», which bring the prohibition on the illegal fishery tools under the regulation. But in Ukraine there are over 500 cities of the area and district subordination, and it will take several years to put an absolute prohibition on the poaching tackles sale in the local order in the regions! The more especially as the local authorities of many cities, for instance, Lvov, Odessa, Donetsk, Cherkassy and others, refuse to adopt the additions to the local «Trade regulations», reasoning that there are no similar changes in the basic regulations which have been taken as the basic ones, Thus, as long as a violent rebuff of the authority limpets lasts , the poaching tackles sale goes on in the markets of hundred Ukrainian cities successfully.
On October 22- 25 “Hunting and Fishing”exhibition took place in the building of the International exhibition center. There AFPA”Fishermen Community of Ukraine” represented on the mounts simultaneously all of its activity trends and programs being realized. On the first day of the exhibition the press conference, initiated by the AFPA”Fishermen Community of Ukraine” took place. Journalists demonstrated a horrible scope of this discreditable event and also represented the results and further plans of the «Program on the antipoaching in Ukraine» development, which has been realizing by the ”Fishermen Community of Ukraine” for the second year already.
In 2008 “Fishermen Community of Ukraine” activists have initiated and developed a legislative proposal «On the amendments introduction to “the Code of administrative violations.” (Referring to the anti-poaching measures reinforcement). This legislative proposal, signed by the people’s deputies Golub A and others, has been introduced under consideration to the Verkhovna Rada in July 2008. Besides, the developed legislative proposal was introduced to the scientific and legislative expertise. We appealed to the most competent scientific institution in our country – to the Institute of state and law by name of Koretskiy V.M. National Academy of Science of Ukraine.
On September 27 nearby the village Korchak in the river Teteriv (Zhytomyr region), competition in individual credit in spinning fishing predatory fish from boats. The organizer of the competition was the Zhytomyr regional representation of «The Fishermen Community of Ukraine» (the Head is Valentin Shuu): this is their first rather successful experience! 56 sportsmen from Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Korostyshiv and other cities of the region took part in the competition. Pikes and pikeperch from 25cm length, perch from 7cm length were credited - the regulations of the competition were rather liberal. Besides, the famous sports principle «Caught it – let it go» had been observed: all undamaged live fish was put back into the river.
On 23rd of September important press-conference organized by “Fishermen Community of Ukraine” took place in the room of information agency UNIAN. Its participants: Andrey Nelipa (President of AWF “FCU”), Nikolay Kostrov (Head of State environmental inspection of Ukraine), Vladimir Boreyko (Director of Kiev Ecological and Cultural Center) and Igor Tikholaz (Head of AWF “FCU” Press-centre). They showed journalists horrific scales of poaching in the country and discussed necessity of urgent acceptance of new draft law on incorporation of changes into “Code on administrative offences” (in relation to strengthening measures on struggle against poaching).
On August 15-16th, 2008 joint action on destruction of poaching nets was hold by FCU representatives, members of Kharkov Spinning League (Bentsionov Alexander, Zatsepin Andrey, Narded Michail, Vasilenko Vladislav) and ecological inspection in Kharkov area.
A team of spinners of «Community of Fishermen of Ukraine» has taken part in «Summer spinning 2008». These competitions were conducted on the 2nd of August by the administration of website www.Rybalka.com, under the auspices of «Civil Inspection of Fishery Protection».
III Stage “FCU Cup 2008” will take place on August, 2nd in closed water in Stritivka village (Kagarlytsky region, Kiev area). It will be competitions on fishing carps (carp, sazan, glass carp) using ground tackle. To date 12 participants from Kiev, Donetsk, Rovno have already been registered.
