 | The protest anglers in Lviv finished with a positive result: Lviv Regional Council announced distrust head of the Lviv State Fishery Department Bogdan Herman, and decided to conduct a thorough investigation into misconduct at the local fishery. The results of checks MPs will seek to ban commercial fishing in the Lviv region. |
 | In Ukraine formed real threat of a full barbaric destruction of aquatic resources and inland water bodies. This is connected with the extraordinary increase in poaching in the country and the continuation of corruption lawlessness, perpetrated by "fishery kingdom" tycoons from the State Fishery Committee (now the Fishery Agency of Ukraine). On behalf of the All-Ukrainian fishermen community, we express an official protest against its illegal activities! |
 | October 27, 2010 in Kiev city House of Nature took place an exhibition of poaching instruments and press-conference "Poaching mayhem in Ukraine." Organizers of the event: Fishermen Community of Ukraine and Kiev Ecological and Cultural Center. The press conference was be attended by people's deputy of Ukraine, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mykola Tomenko and Deputy Head of the State Ecological Inspection Mykola Pavlenko. Journalists were shown around 100 different poaching instruments, rip it out in raids by activists of KECC, FCU, DOP "Green Future", and given a booklet, "poaching mayhem in Ukraine", published recently by the Kiev Ecological and Cultural Center and the film about the anti-poaching, filmed by Fishermen Community of Ukraine. |
 | Our organization has addressed to the appropriate authorities of the state government time and again as for the regular violations of the environmental legislation in Ukraine by some public and sport organizations/joint companies.. However, notwithstanding our protests, some of the public organizations are still planning fishing competitions conducting not concerted with the fishery protection authorities, which can result in a significant damage to the fishery resources in Ukraine - especially in the spawning prohibition period. |
 | At the 16th International exhibition «Hunting and Fishing», during the meeting with the regional representatives of the Community, awarding of the sportsmen was conducted, these sportsmen represented “All-Ukrainian Sport Fishing Club in the Fishermen Community of Ukraine” at the World Championship in the ice jig fishing ( February 14-15, 2009, Poland).
Bohdan Schevich and Bohdan Demyanchuk, joined the national team of Ukraine helped to bear the Gold away for our team: Order of Merit for “All-Ukrainian Sport Fishing Club in the Fishermen Community of Ukraine” they were awarded with the laptops!

 | On January 25-26 activists of «the Fishermen Community of Ukraine» conducted inspection raids in the markets of the capital and Kiev’s oblast – with respect to the discovery of the illegal fishing gears trade. Representatives of the Kiev’s ecological and cultural center, Kiev State Fish Protection and Ministry of the Internal Affairs took part in the raids.
In the course of two days three volunteer teams and law enforcement officials with the total number of 20 persons, inspected six cities and towns: Kiev, Belaya Tserkov, Skvira, Vasilkov, Fastov, Irpen. Due to the operating information received from the local activists of the Community, only the markets, where the illegal fishing gears trade had been discovered were inspected. |
 | On January 21 Representatives of “The Fishermen Community of Ukraine” participated in the inspection raid of the winter fishing places with respect to the following rules of conduct on the ice by the fishermen. This inspection was conducted by the forces of the Kiev’s Rescue Service of the Emergency Situations Ministry in Ukraine in Vishgorodskiy region of the Kiev’s oblast.

First of all you must find a path or footsteps on the ice. If there are no any, then you can mark the beginning of your movement route on the shore . Previously you must look around and see whether there are any suspicious places:

 | Yesterday on the special polygon next to Vishgorod the employees of the AFPA "Fishermen Community of Ukraine", Kiev eco-cultural center, Kiev fishery conservation Management burned the poaching nets, confiscated in the course of the antipoaching raids conducted during the last month in the basins of Kiev . About 300 nets (at least 20 thousand UAH) turned into ash. This is a cautionary lesson for the rule breakers of the amateur and sport fishing, besides; this also is a sharp evidence of the poaching panic-stricken rates in Ukraine.

 | AFPA”Fishermen Community of Ukraine” initiated «Legislation on the antipoaching in Ukraine». Deputes Golub A and others have already introduced this legislation to the consideration of Verkhovna Rada. Acceptance of it is necessary the water resources of the country to be protected, after all each year the poachers catch as much fish as a it is permitted to the industrial enterprises officially! Due to such temps of the illegal fishing we have forgotten how the golden crucian carp, Amur bream,barb, gudgeon, tuna fish, herring and many other kinds,not to mention sturgeons – they cannot be found practically in the water reservoirs of Ukraine. This legislation will give the rights back to the public inspectors for making the protocols on the transgressors according to the Article 85 in the Administrative code of Ukraine. The public must help to struggle with the poachers more affectively! |
